Pinguicula medusina x moctezumae – product details:
The price of a portion – one 7cm diameter + 1-2 smaller ones.
An interesting hybrid of two narrowleaf Pinguiculas, reaching quite large sizes. Because of parent P. medusina – in good lighting – leaves will stain a reddish color. Due to the high resistance – it should grow well both on the windowsill, in the summer in the garden, as well as in the terrarium. This hybrid likes mineral medium – mix of sand, perlite, peat, vermiculite, vulcanic puzzolane, milled dolomitic and calcitic limestone. The medium should be a little bit wet. At winter we reccomended wintering in 12-15*C and rarely sprayed, but air humidity should be high.
All products are described as accurately as possible. Whenever possible, the attached
photos are labeled and described. Some images may show the appearance of mature plants
(which may differ from younger plants), their leaves, or flowers, while others present
randomly selected plants from the batch offered for sale. Slight variations in appearance
may occur due to the seasonal growth cycle (phenology) of the plants. The most important
information is always the product description, including the stated minimum plant diameter or
height.
Please note that Mexican butterworts periodically enter a dormant phase, most commonly
during winter. During this period, they produce compact winter rosettes composed of
numerous small, non-carnivorous leaves, which often differ significantly in size and
appearance from the larger summer rosettes. While dormant, the plants should be provided
with appropriate conditions and the substrate moisture should be significantly reduced. For
detailed cultivation instructions, please refer to the Mexican butterwort growing guide.
For international orders, plants are typically shipped in a sealed plastic bag with a small
amount of moist material to maintain humidity and ensure safe transport. To reduce shipping
costs, plants are usually sent without pots or substrate. Upon request, pots and substrate
can be included; however, this will increase the shipping cost due to the additional weight.
