One of the most iconic carnivorous plants, famous for its jaw-like traps that snap shut in a fraction of a second. The traps are triggered only by genuine prey, ignoring false signals such as wind or raindrops. Once closed, the plant digests its meal over several days before reopening. Each trap works only a few times, after which it naturally dies back and is replaced by fresh leaves.
