Genlisea are small carnivorous plants native mainly to South America and Africa. They produce unique underground traps resembling twisted tubular structures, often described as “eel traps,” which capture microscopic soil organisms such as protozoa. Above the surface, they form delicate leaf rosettes and produce attractive, orchid-like flowers. These plants prefer very moist, well-drained substrates and high humidity.
