Real king of size in the world of sundews, a native of the western part of southern Africa. Lance-shaped leaves of the royal sundews in adult can reach up to 60cm in length! Its glands produce very viscous and sticky substance, so that the plant can catch even large flies. Its loves sunny places, where is beautifully stained.
It can grow on a sunny windowsill both, as well as in the terrarium. In summer you can expose the plant to the balcony or garden. Because of its long, thick, and yet delicate roots – we recommend cultivating in high pots. As the substrate is best to use light mix – dead moss sphagnum peat (no fertilizers, 3,5-4,5pH) and sand in equal proportions. The plant likes to slow the growth in winter, ‘recharge the battery’, then you should give it colder, well-lit, preferably at a temperature of 5-15 ° C. Ideal for this purpose is to check the place at the window in the garage or cellar, in the absence of windows you can also use artificial light (such as compact fluorescent lamp) the 8-10h a day.
