Please note that tuberous sundews enter a warm dormancy period, usually during summer,
when the above-ground parts naturally die back. During this dormant season, plants are sold
as dormant tubers removed from the growing medium. Tuberous sundews can be safely
shipped in this form, as the tubers remain viable for an extended period.
Upon receiving the tubers, they should be planted in a suitable substrate. A predominantly
mineral growing mix with a reduced peat content is recommended to minimize the risk of
tuber rot. A mixture of peat (3,5-4,5 pH without fertilizers), sand, perlite, akadama, and
kanuma in equal proportions works very well. After planting, the tubers should be kept under
conditions appropriate for this group of sundews natural summer dormancy until growth
resumes.
